Alcohol Rehab
In order to understand how to treat alcohol (or substance) addiction and have a successful alcohol rehab, you have to understand the psychology behind the addiction. In most cases, alcohol addiction stems from a person becoming depressed so it is necessary to treat the emotional and the mental aspects of the addiction, not just the physical aspect. It is the main reason why our alcohol rehab is so successful. We have spent countless hours on researching the subject and our alcohol rehab program was the result of this due diligence.
For the client that enters our alcohol rehab facility, we know that the most difficult times lay ahead. The client has already had to make two life changing decisions that were no doubt the most difficult in their lives, namely admitting they have a problem and then entering our facility for treatment and recovery. The detox stage of any alcohol rehab program is always the hardest on the client emotionally, mentally, and physically.
Knowing this, we designed our facility to have a homelike setting rather than the traditional clinical or hospital looking alcohol rehab center. The detox stage is difficult enough and oftentimes requires medical supervision as the client’s cravings for alcohol is at their worst. There is always the possibility that these cravings get so severe that the client becomes delirious, physically ill, and even violent. Suffice it to say, the experience is very unpleasant and it quickly becomes apparent just how dependent upon alcohol the client has become.
During the detox stage of our alcohol rehab program, clients in the past have experienced several different physical symptoms such as blackouts, nausea, shaking, sweating, twitching, and vomiting. The last thing the client needs when they are encountering any of these is to feel like they are imprisoned in a clinic or hospital, hence the homelike design and setting that we created here at our alcohol rehab facility.
The common misconception held by most people who have never had to deal with any form of alcohol or substance addiction is that the detox stage can be so unpleasant that it would deter the afflicted person from ever relapsing again in the future. This is a myth because alcohol addiction is like an allergy to one’s body as well as being an obsession of the mind. So it is easy to see why traditional alcohol rehab programs have such a high failure rate with their clients. You have to understand the psychology of the addiction process and then focus on treating the emotional, mental, and physical aspects and consequences of the person’s addiction.
Our alcohol rehab facility employs a qualified staff to oversee a client’s behavior 24 hours a day and our counseling and therapy sessions are conducted and supervised by licensed physicians and psychologists. In fact, several of our staff members came to work at our facility because they were treated for alcohol addiction and recovered from it. Additionally, our alcohol rehab program also focuses on the uniqueness of the individual client’s physical make-up and their personalities. Since no two individuals are alike, no two treatment and recovery methods are either.
