Raising the Bar for Behavioral Healthcare in the U.S.
At Chapman House, we believe that every person who is able to make the difficult decision to seek treatment for addiction deserves to receive the highest standard of care possible. All of our Chapman House Centers go through a rigorous peer review process as well as regular on-site inspections from the top accrediting bodies in behavioral healthcare. We continually demonstrate our commitment to providing programs and services that are measurable, accountable, and of the highest quality.
Many other behavioral health facilities claim to provide a full range of detox & rehab programs similar to what we offer. However, upon deeper investigation many of these facilities are unaccredited, overfilled and understaffed, many engage in false advertising and illegal activities that could jeopardize your future ability to receive treatment through your health insurance.
Our Treatment Programs
Chapman House Treatment Centers provide a safe and comfortable residential detox that is directly monitored by a medical doctor. Upon arrival you will be evaluated by our clinical staff and a specialized detox program will be created just for you depending on the substances you are detoxing from, your withdrawal symptoms, your medical history, and your individual preferences. Our clinical staff will continue to monitor your health throughout the detox and medication can be prescribed to help ease withdrawal symptoms.
Our partial hospitalization program or PHP, is a highly structured outpatient program where patients receive treatment at least 5 days per week for no less than 6 hours per day. Patients enrolled in our PHP program receive the same high quality programming available to our residential treatment patients. Treatment includes daily group sessions, cognitive behavioral therapy, and one-on-one sessions with a board certified psychologist. The purpose of PHP is to provide a gradual step away from around the clock supervision and gain real-life experience living out in the community.
Chapman House Treatment Centers provide a wide variety of outpatient services In addition to all of our primary treatment programs. Many of the services that are included in our residential treatment program are also available on an outpatient or per-session basis. Please contact one of our Recovery Specialists for specific details about the outpatient services that are currently available.
Our residential treatment, also known as inpatient treatment, is a truly comprehensive and modern rehabilitation program. Everyone who enters our residential treatment is evaluated by both a medical doctor and a board certified psychologist in order to create a custom treatment plan based on your individual needs. New developments in medication-assisted treatments and cognitive behavioral therapy are made available to each of our patients and our recovery staff are available 24/7 to provide one-on-one counseling in addition to group sessions throughout your stay.
We strongly encourage our patients to work towards building a healthy and active lifestyle during and after their treatment. A wide variety of activities are included throughout our treatment programs such as beach trips, hiking, family days, sightseeing, and state-of-the-art gym access. In addition, Chapman House Treatment Centers all have the highest level of CARF Accreditation which is only awarded to the top 2% of recovery centers in the country.
The least restrictive of our treatment programs, Intensive Outpatient or IOP, consists of a minimum treatment of three days a week for three hours per day. Patients enrolled in IOP spend a large portion of their time out in the community. The primary focus of IOP is to reintegrate each individual back into society while further developing their aftercare plan, exploring job or volunteer opportunities, and preparing them to make the transition back into the “real world” and on to the next step in their recovery.
Dual-diagnosis is a term for when someone experiences a mental illness and a substance abuse problem simultaneously.Whether they develop as a result of chemical dependency or are an underlying issue before addiction begins, dual diagnoses (also called “co-occurring disorders”) may include:
Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)
Schizophrenia & personality disorders
Attention deficit disorder (ADD)
Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD)
As addiction worsens, so does the co-occurring condition—and vice versa. Because of this, both diseases must be treated simultaneously to achieve the best results. Depending upon the individual client’s needs, our treatment programs for dual diagnosis clients may include group and individual therapy, recreational therapy, nutrition and exercise, support groups, medication management, family therapy, and aftercare planning.
Sometimes people who are suffering from emotional and/or physical pain may attempt to self medicate using their prescription medication. Unfortunately they can easily become addicted to their prescription meds, as well as, alcohol and other drugs they may be using.
Mixing substances is a dangerous and potentially lethal way to deal with depression, anxiety, and other disorders. Chapman House is one of the few addiction treatment centers equipped to treat dual-diagnosis patients, Chapman House Treatment Centers determine what medications are necessary to manage the dual-diagnosis, and ensures that they are safely administered for optimal results.
When needed, Chapman House also works with outside physicians and practitioners to ensure that dual-diagnosis patients receive the best possible care.
